Kimmerling Prize for Graduate Student Paper at the AIS Conference 2008

The Association for Israel Studies will be offering two awards for the best graduate student paper that was presented at the 2008 conference.  The first was already awarded to Ceren Belge at the 2008 conference itself.  The second will be based on revised papers that were originally presented at the 2008 conference, and the winner will be formally announced at the next conference, hosted by Sapir College, in Israel, June 1-3, 2009. 

Graduate students who presented papers at the NYU conference are encouraged to submit their revised papers for the competition.  Papers should be written in article format (no particular style is demanded but the paper should not be in outline or lecture format, should include full citations, should be approximately 15-25 pages double-spaced, 12 point font in length).   The winning paper will be published in the Israel Studies Forum, pending acceptable revisions.  Papers should be submitted electronically to all three members of the Kimmerling Award Committee:
